Floating Sheep’s map charting hate tweets, which allows you to search on several flavors of hate, is a creative use of data and mapping to raise awareness.

"floating sheep" is just the name of the blog run by Dr. Monica Stephens with her peers at humboldt state university. she is also the researcher behind this map. it is not some identity-less blog, it is a specific woman’s work.
and if you missed her FAQ- note that hate speech against women was not included on the hate map because it was so prolific that the cost of paying students to code (read and record) each tweet from the sample with the word “bitch” alone was roughly $55,000.
